block time

The commit timeout value in the node config defines how long we wait after committing a block before starting a new height (this gives us the chance to receive more precommits even though we already have +2/3) . The current default is 6s.

📣 Tip: $install_path is used to indicate the path where you installed the stcd binary

📣 Tip: As of v6, this is automatically handled by the server when initializing the node. Validators need to ensure that their local nodes are configured to speed up the network to ~2 second block times. :::

In $install_path/.stcd/config/config.toml you can set your peers.

See Adding Persistent Nodes in our docs for an automated method, but the fields should look like comma-separated peer strings (don't copy it, just an example):

Health Node

If you only rely on seed nodes and have no persistent peers or only a small number, please add the following parameters to config.toml:
